We are Committed to Patient Education

At Rossmoor Rehabilitation, we are committed to patient education. Every patient’s needs are different and as a patient at Rossmoor Rehabilitation, you will receive an individualized treatment program following an in-depth evaluation which will include patient education.

We spend a lot of time educating our patients so we can work as a team to improve their health now, and help them to stay healthy in the future. Our goal is to have you continue to exercise at home.
Some of the education that benefits many of our clients include:

Ergonomics is the science of adapting the job and/or the equipment and the human to each other for optimal safety and productivity. You will learn proper ergonomics for work and home to help prevent repetitive strain injuries which can develop over time and can lead to long-term disability.

Postural training and awareness – we will evaluate how you maintain your posture in sitting, standing, and during functional activities and teach you how to maintain optimal postures throughout the day.

Body mechanics is a phrase that describes the movements we make each day during normal activities, from lying in bed, to sitting, to walking, or lifting and pushing. We will teach you good body mechanics will help remedy and prevent future back problems.

Home exercise programs – we will teach you how to continue exercise at home and the importance of doing so, so you can continue to promote your own good health.
